วิทยุ M3AR เป็นวิทยุแบบ software defined radios แบบหลายบทบาท หลายความถี่ และหลายโหมด ซึ่งเป็นตัวเลือกของการสื่อสารที่น่าเชื่อถือที่สำคัญกับภารกิจ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นเครื่องบินไอพ่นหรือเครื่องบินใบพัด เฮลิคอปเตอร์ หรือ UAV ทำงานที่ความถี่ 30 – 400 MHz มีขนาดเบาและเล็กแต่มีกำลังส่งสูง พร้อมระบบ Electronic Protection Measures (EPM) แบบ HAVE QUICK I/II, SATURN, และ SECOS

กองทัพอากาศไทยจัดหาเครื่องบินฝึก T-6TH Texan II จำนวน 12 ลำเพื่อทดแทน PC-9 และจัดหาเครื่องบินโจมตี AT-6TH เพิ่มเติมในล็อตแรกอีก 8 ลำ

Royal Thai Air Force pilots train with Rohde & Schwarz communications
The new training aircraft for the Royal Thai Air Force will be flying with Rohde & Schwarz R&S M3AR software defined radios.
Rohde & Schwarz was awarded a contract to deliver R&S M3AR software defined, multiband-capable airborne radios for the Royal Thai Air Force’s (RTAF) new Textron Aviation T-6C Texan II training aircraft, to be called the T-6TH within the RTAF.
